BHP MEDICAL
CLINIC HAITI

Located in north Haiti, BHP Medical Clinic Haiti supports the small village of Balan and its neighboring villages through quality, family medicine.

A FAMILY MEDICINE CLINIC IN HAITI.

A capital campaign is underway to fund the continued operating costs of the BHP Medical Clinic in Balan, Haiti. The family medicine clinic offers quality health care to a village without affordable, local options. BHP Medical Clinic is run and staffed by a team of Haitian professionals. Current fundraising needs include funding for operating costs at current staffing and hours, as well as to increase days open and provide additional staffing as needed. The clinic/community building requires maintenance and repairs. Our vision is to fix the existing shared-space community building, while looking for and generating funding for a more permanent clinic home.

Clinic

FROM THE DIRECTOR.

BHP Medical Clinic is the medical center in north Haiti that provides medical care in the small village of Balan. Here we started work formally in October of 2019, but before that we worked in a mobile clinic, where we saw how much people needed health care. After we analyzed the area, the Brown Horse board and I decided to come and help in a more permanent way. Since we opened BHP Medical Clinic Haiti, many people welcome us with love. We treat our patients well. We just charge a little fee for all services: consultation, lab exam and medications, all for 500 gourdes (about $3.35). But at BHP, even the patients who can't pay come to see us and we take care of them with love. We work four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, we hope someday to add more days.

We do Bible education and medical education before we start seeing patients. We work together with community leaders, that help us know about needs in the village. We provide community health education as well. We see elderly and people with disabilities for free. I thank God that the feedback of what we offer in the community is positive. We hope in the future God will bless us more, so we can share with these amazing people. Thank you for trusting in our organization.

BECOME A PARTNER

BHP Medical Clinic Haiti depends on the generous and faithful support of monthly donors. Your help makes a big impact.

Common medical problems (infections, fever, high blood pressure, diabetes) are easily remedied when doctors and medicine are readily available to you. 🇺🇸These problems become more significant and worrisome without access to medical care. Did you know physician density in Haiti 🇭🇹 is 0.23 doctors per 1000 population vs. in the US 🇺🇸 2.61 doctors per 1000 population? *source: CIA

BHP Medical Clinic Haiti opened on October 7, 2019. The clinic is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and currently employs a wonderfully talented, loyal, God-fearing Haitian staff of nine.

Asof 2023, the clinic is serving more than 4,000 patients.

Satellite Girls Soccer Team

sponsored by BHP Medical Clinic Haiti

Meet the girls of the 2021 Satellite Girls Soccer Team sponsored by BHP Medical Clinic Haiti. Ranging in age from seven to 19, Satellite's team of 26 girls is led by three coaches, who try to instill in the girls the ideas of teamwork, camaraderie and healthy living, in addition to helping them hone their skills on the field.

Games are typically played a 30-plus-minute drive from the village. Brown Horse is working to help with some of the additional financial difficulties for the coaches and the girls' families as transportation, water and supplies are expensive.

Our primary goal is to ensure each player has an acceptable pair of shoes to play in.

Donate to the team (put Satellite in notes) or purchase a Satellite jersey in our shop and with each we'll send a pair of shoes to the team.
